Public Performance Rights
Public Performance Rights (or PPR) are the rights you must license in order to show a film or video to a public audience. Most films owned by Morris Library do NOT have Public Performance Rights and can only be used in a classroom or by individuals at home. But some of our films include a license to "perform" the film in a screening open to the general public.
There are a select number of films with Public Performance Rights available on DVD in the library. Streaming video films with Public Performance Rights are available through Kanopy Streaming Video.
Below is an updated list of DVDs at Morris Library that include Public Performance Rights.
These films can be used for public screenings under the following conditions:
- Public screening events must be free-- no admission can be charged.
- Public screenings should be held on campus.
- Public screenings should not be rebroadcast or streamed online.
- In some cases, screenings should be limited to 50 people.
