Library Card = SIUC ID Card

Bring your SIUC ID Card with you to the library.

Your SIUC ID card works as your Library Card.

Use it to:

    1. Check out books
    2. Print/Copy (10cents/page based on Debit Dawg)

Your Network ID (siu85xxxxxxx) is your Library ID number.

      Use it to:

        1. Log on to computers with valid Network ID & Password (see Computers tab above)
        2. Access library resources from off-campus

Off-campus and need to sign in?

                Find your textbooks

                The Good News

The Library will only have a copy of your textbook IF your instructor has placed it on Reserves.

Search Course Reserves on the Morris Library website to find out if your instructor has reserved FREE copies of a textbook for your class. If they have not, then it never hurts to ask if they would.

                The Bad News

                • Textbooks CANNOT be ordered through Interlibrary Loan. All Interlibrary Loan requests are checked against the current list of required textbooks so your ILL request will be cancelled if you try. Sorry.
                • It is illegal to photocopy an entire book, even if it is only for your own use. Copyright Law prohibits this.
                • Textbooks through course reserve are FREE to use, but there's a catch (of course). You can only use them for up to three hours inside the library. You can check them out again after the three hours are up but we have to make sure everyone can get to that book.

                 The Good News...AGAIN!

There are several places – on campus, in Carbondale, and online –  where you can purchase used textbooks for much less than the price of a new book.  You can use the University Bookstore's convenient search to see what textbooks are required for your class.
