PUBLIC NOTICE
DATES FOR EARLY VOTING

IN JACKSON COUNTY

Public Notice is hereby given that Early Voting, per 10ILCS 5/19A will be conducted in the office of the Jackson County Clerk. Voting will be conducted during the following dates and hours for the November 6th, 2012 General Election. All Precincts in Jackson County will be served at the County Clerk’s Office, Jackson County Courthouse, 1001 Walnut St., Murphysboro, IL

Dates Hours
Monday, October 22nd to Friday, October 26th 8:00 - 4:00
Monday, October 29th to Friday, November 2nd 8:00 - 4:00
Saturday November 3rd, 2012 8:00 - 12:00

Early voting for all Poll Centers will also be available at the Carbondale Civic Center on the days of: October 22nd, 24th, 26th, 29th, 31st, and November 2nd,
Early voting will also be available at the SIU Student Center for all Poll Centers on the days of: October 23rd, 25th, 30th, and November 1st.
All During the hours of 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

WHAT IS EARLY VOTING? Early voting in Illinois is available for all elections. Any registered Jackson County voter may cast their vote prior to Election Day at the office of the County Clerk and any offered off-site location. Voter must have a valid picture ID and proof of current registration address. No excuse or reason is required to early vote.

Voting by personal appearance at an Early Voting Center begins Monday, October 22, 2012 for the November 6, 2012 General Election. Election authorities in each county in the state of Illinois have announced the locations of Early Voting Centers that will be open through November 3, 2012.

10/22/2012 Early voting starts First day for early voting at the office of the election authority and permanent locations designated by the election authority. Temporary early voting locations may be established by the election authority, but are not required to maintain the same voting days and hours as the election authority. (10 ILCS 5/19A-15, 19A-20)
11/1/2012 Last day for absentee voting by mail Last day a nonregistered citizen residing in Illinois who is temporarily absent from his/her county of residence may apply by mail for an absentee ballot to vote for President and Vice President only with the election authority having jurisdiction over his/her precinct of permanent residence. (10 ILCS 5/20-13) Last day for the election authority to receive an absentee application by mail from any registered voter presently within the United States. (10 ILCS 5/19-2)
11/1/2012 Last day to apply for absentee if voter moved Last day a registered voter in Illinois who has moved outside of his/her precinct within 30 days prior to a Presidential election may apply by mail for an absentee ballot to vote for President and Vice President only with the election authority having jurisdiction over his/her precinct of former residence. (10 ILCS 5/20-13.1)
11/3/2012 Last day for Grace Period registration and voting Last day of grace period registration or change of address in the office of the election authority or at a location designated for this purpose by the election authority. (10 ILCS 5/4-50, 5-50, 6-100) Last day of grace period registration or change of address in the office of the election authority or at a location designated for this purpose by the election authority. 11/3/2012 Last day for Early Voting Last day for early voting at the office of the election authority and permanent locations designated by the election authority. 11/5/2012 Last day to vote in-person absentee Last day for any registered voter, presently within the confines of the United States, to vote in person at the election authority, municipal, township or road district clerk office who is authorized to conduct absentee voting. (10 ILCS 5/19-2)
