English 102: Use OneSearch

This guide is here to help you find what you need when you need it for your English 102 assignments.

What is OneSearch?

OneSearch is a tool that allows you to simultaneously search for articles in many of Morris Library’s databases. Its advantage is also its drawback: it gives you lots and lots of results. Think of it like Morris Library's version of Google.

OnseSearch Tools

So, yeah, the bad news is there is A LOT of information but the good news is that there are lots of ways to narrow down your search results. You can find ways to narrow your search on the left-hand side of the page.

Limit To: The peer review and date limiters are helpful, but ignore the other two for now.

Source Types: Narrow down to a single type of resource like academic journals or newspapers, depending on what you need.

Location: This is kind of a trap. DO NOT use OneSearch to find books or ebooks. Instead, use I-Share.

Subject: Think of these as other keywords relating to your search. They will help you reduce and focus the number of results you get.
