Researching the history of a specific building or architectural landmark is no easy feat. Below are a number of different guides to help you get started.
Free database for international architecture, originally emerging from records of interesting building projects from architecture students, has meanwhile become the largest online-database about worldwide architects and buildings from past to present.

Historical maps charting the growth and development cities and towns. Each map shows the street and building addresses at the time the map was made, as well as the outline of each building and construction details and was created to assist fire insurance companies assess property risks.
