There are multiple style guides to help you. Purdue University offers great resources online through their Online Writing Lab (OWL) in addition to our access through publishers.

Favorite Citation Tools

There are several online citation generators available that will help you format citations or your works cited page into APA, MLA, Chicago or other citation styles. Morris Library offers assistance for two tools: EndNote Desktop, which is available for free to SIU faculty, staff, and graduate students, and Zotero, which is a free download. Both of these tools offer many citation formats. Beyond formatting citations, both allow you to organize notes and store references.

Online Citation Tools

The following tools were selected by Morris Librarians to help you get started with citation styles.

BibMe
Automatic citation generator that formats in APA, MLA, Chicago and Turabian styles.
EasyBib
Automated citation generator that offer MLA style for free. APA and Chicago are offered for a subscription price.

EndNote Online
Users must create a personal account for the EndNote Online citation management service via Web of Science. If you are already registered on Web of Science, you will be directed to login with that password instead of completing the registration form.

Zotero
An extension to the Firefox browser, this free tool that allows you to collect and store citations into folders, which can then be formatted for in-text citations or a works cited page.
