The Student Multicultural Resource Center (SMRC) at SIU is a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where individuals with diverse identities are valued and celebrated.
The SMRC's work is rooted in social justice, anti-racism, equity, inclusivity, identity, and intersectionality. They recognize and acknowledge the histories of marginalization various communities face; therefore, we work to support students through educational programming that brings awareness, fosters understanding, builds scholarship, and eradicates systemic barriers.
