Steps for Submitting a Journal Manuscript

1) Choose a journal

2) Write your manuscript, keeping journal guidelines in mind

3) Write your cover letter

4) Submit your manuscript to editor

5) Editor will either reject article or send on for review

6) If rejected, revise and resubmit, perhaps at another journal

7) If accepted (often after several revisions), sign an author agreement (copyright and author's rights)

8) Your article is further revised, copyedited, typeset, and proofed

9) Your article is published!

10) Archive and improve access to your work as required (by funders) and as allowed (by your author agreements)
