LGBTQ+ History: Readings and Resources

LGBTQ+ History

Southern Illinois University Carbondale will commemorate October as LGBTQ+ History Month.

A variety of special events and activities are planned, most of which are free to the campus community and public, led by the LGBTQ+ Resource Center.

With a theme of "Reclaiming Queer History," 2024 is a special year as SIU marks the 20th anniversary of commemorating LGBTQ+ History Month on campus and the 30th national anniversary of the month, according to Juniper Oxford, coordinator of the LGBTQ Resource Center.

Below are a selection of readings and resources on LGBTQ+ history available through Morris Library.
