Resources for Quick Start

Downloading the EndNote 2025 app is recommended as it offers unlimited citation storage compared to the free online version.

Download EndNote 25 to a Campus Computer:

• To download EndNote to a campus computer for the first time, or to update to the most current version, access SIU Office of Information Technology’s Company Portal or search the computer for Company Portal. 
• On the Company Portal page, scroll alphabetically through the Software Library and select EndNote 2025.
• Follow the prompts to install EndNote 2025.
• Contact Saluki Tech via chat or email with any questions about Company Portal and the installation process.

Download EndNote 2025 to a personal device:

• Navigate to the Office of Information Technology's website and select your role as Student or Faculty/Staff.
• Select View Software Offerings.
• Request EndNote 2025 for a personal device.
• Submit online ticket to SalukiTech.

Set up your EndNote Library

• Open EndNote 2025.
• Register your EN desktop in the top menu by selecting Library > Sync.
• If you are already registered with EndNote online, use the email and password you set up in Web of Science. If not, set up a new account and use this account if you log in to EndNote online.
• Select File > New
• Save your library on your computer's local hard drive.

EndNote Online

• The free online version of EndNote has a storage capacity of 50,000 references and 2 GB for attachments.
• Sync desktop and online accounts and access your account from any web-enabled device. 
• Register for an EndNote online account through Web of Science
• Consider registering with your SIU email address for ease of finding collaborators.
