Website References

To create a reference from a website, you must use EndNote Online in conjunction with EndNote Desktop.

First you have to download the installer:

Step 1: In EndNote Online select the Options tab and then click Download Installers.

Step 2: Drag the Capture Reference button to your bookmark bar or right click on the button and add it to the bookmark bar. A Firefox extension is also available.

To create a reference from a website:

Step 1: Click the Capture Reference button in your bookmark bar while on the desired website.

Step 2: Select EndNote.

Step 3: Change the Reference Type to Web Page.

Step 4: Click Save to.

Step 5: A window indicating the reference was successfully captured will pop up.

Step 6: Select the application with which to open the .ris file by clicking on Browse.

Step 7: Choose Endnote X7 from the Helper Application menu and click OK.

Step 8: Click OK in the Capture To Desktop and the reference will appear in the Imported References folder in your EndNote Desktop library.
